pennie_dreadful: A cat wearing glasses (Fuck Off)

Just to let everyone know, I'm looking for another job, either another part time job to work around the one I already, or a full time one so I can quit this shithole.  So positve thoughts/vibes please!  It seems to actually work, or maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I have a sort of job opportunity (really very nebulous, more like an embryo of a job opportunity) at Disney.  Someone has a brother who's a manager at a restaurant at Disney World/Land whichever, and I should join Facebook and massage him.  I randomly consider it for five second intervals before thinking it's a terrible idea.  First of all, it's fucking Disney.  Second of all, I don't want to deal with the level of craziness that I know is going to be present all the time at a Disney World/Land restaurant.  Third, I'd have to join Facebook, which I don't want.  I prefer to remain anonymous online.  But the idea still pops in my head.  Anything is better than here, right?  But no, I've dealt with the whole tourist town thing, and that was at a beach town in Alabama that most of the country doesn't even know exists.

I can't even tell you how much I am beginning to hate my job.  Have I mentioned that almost everyone who works there is a woman?  Yeah, there are only three guys, not counting the two assistant managers, who we don't have much to do with.  And it's true, an office, or kitchen or whatever, filled with women is nothing but drama drama drama.  Especially when most have them have been working there for eight to eleven years.  (If I am still working here, or at a place like it, in eleven years, then someone just shoot me.)  Plus the place is just...nasty.  I'm not a clean freak by any means, but I just want to take a bucket of bleach and scour the whole place.  I do what I can, when I can, but this place needs professional cleaning.  For example, in the basement, which is where the walk-in fridge/freezer and dry storage is, there are leaky pipes from upstairs crisscrossing the whole ceiling.  There is slime mold hanging and dripping water everywhere; it smells musty and it's just gross.  Plus the door to the freezer doesn't close all the way, so there's always condensation around the edges, and there's a bunch of mold growing all around it.  It's disgusting.  And I see people down there sometimes putting together a desert tray with a cigarette hanging out of their mouths.  It's just, ugh, it makes me never want to eat out ever ever again.

Ok, first off, where in the hell are you working at? I feel like I need to bathe just from that brief description. And this place is a restaurant? Ugh, how nasty. But I don't want to sound negative, so I will keep my fingers crossed that you can find a better job to get away from the pisshole that you are currently at.

I have to admit, the thought of working at Disney World did cross my mind a couple of years ago. Then I got to thinking, and as much as I love Disney (been twice), I think I prefer going to Disney as a visitor. I can't see faking a huge grin for 8+ hours a day in the sweltering Florida sun (same goes for Disney Land). What happened with moving to Georgia? Did that fall through?

Yeah, I could never get the girl to return my calls. I think the cats may have been a deal breaker, although it would have been nice for her to tell me instead of leaving me hanging.

Also I realized I have a lot of typos in that post. lol at massage instead message. Whatever, I'm too lazy to go back and edit.

First off: Ewwwwwwww! That is disgusting. It makes you wonder, the kind of places you eat at and have no idea what's behind the scenes. Scary to think of, really. :/ Ew.

I hope you can find another job soon! It really SUCKS to work at a job you don't like. I feel ya on working with woman, too. I don't have many female friends for this reason. Working with them is even WORSE. In job situations like that, 90% of the women are just catty bitches who can't do anything but gossip and make the people around them miserable. :P I can completely understand your hesitation about a job at Disney. I've never been... mostly because the thought of all those crazy people with their equally crazy kids makes me reluctant to go. :/ Sending positive thoughts your way!

I've been to Disney World/Land whichever, the one in Orlando, once and it was so overrated. I hate going to theme parks in general; I could forgive the tacky decor, but not waiting for over three hours to ride a coaster. And even with the speed pass, you can't ride the ride immediately, you have to wait for your time. So you still wait, just not in a line. Plus the rides all suck anyway. Universal Studios was much more fun (plus we went when it the weather was bad, so there were almost no other people there.)

I've been to DisneyWorld twice. I had fun both times I went. Granted, I kept a water bottle with me so I didn't die from heat exhaustion, but it was fun. Although I will admit that I DID NOT enjoy waiting over 75 minutes just to ride the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and it be all over with in a matter of 30 seconds (but I guess that's the norm most thrill rides). They have Disney for adults (I do believe it's called Pleasure Island) but all it consist of is overpriced nightclubs that charge you an arm and a leg for drinks. Never been there though.

I went to Universal Studios but didn't get to ride any of the rides, due to my friend and spending half the damn day driving around lost as fuck. By the time we did get there, they were shutting down the theme park early for some special event. I wanted to scream. So instead we walked and checked out the other parts of Universal. I even missed out on my chance to get slimed at Nickelodeon Studios. Damn, I'm still bitter about that.

I guess you just have to be a Disney person. I never really cared for any Disney films, except Beauty and the Beast.
