new office

If anyone is online right now, talk to me, please.  If I had known the new office was going to be like htis I'd have brought a book--and I will, tomorrow.  Usually I have one, but for some reason my bag is bookless.  I probably took whatever was in there out to replace it and got sidetracked.

At this point I'm wondering why I'm even here because there is nothing for me to do.  The phone rang once this morning.  I cleaned out and organized my desk.  Explored a bit.  But other than that, nothing.  No one's asked me to anything for them.  I have spent most of the morning online.  Catching up on some emails, wasting time on Yahoo and here.  Really. What am I even doing here?  Although after yesterday it's relieving, but this is going to wear thin pretty soon.

Scratch that.  I have been given a task.  But I can't do anything about it until I go back to residential this afternoon to pick up the mail and other things.  Oh, yeah, since I have to drive to residential everyday I get a mileage check in addition to my regular paycheck.  So that's another plus.  And if it gets me out of this office...

//edit//

Woo, I have thirty extra dollars I didn't know I had.  I normally stay in the office for lunch, to save money on eating out, but I need to get out of this place.  I'll just do it this once.  I was unprepared for the reality.

Anyway I called the bank to see how much cash I had onhand, and what was written in my register didn't match what I was hearing, and lo and behold, I subtracted wrong!  Normally when this happens I think I have more money than I acually do and I overdraw my account.  Bad me.  Not this time, though!  I'm calling my sister in accounting to see if she wants to go somewhere together.

//edit again//

In my so far infinate free time, I have, as before mentioned, been wasting time online.  Hell, if I have to sit here and stare at the computer may as well use it, right?  Anyway, I've discovered Guerilla Gardening.  Even I, who am well known for my black thumb, want to get involved.  Also, I've discovered the Flat Earth Society.  I am torn between thinking that this is just some huge joke, and being shocked and appalled that anyone could buy into this.

Sorry sweetie, I had a busy morning running around and all, I should have checked though, I usually do though you don't usually post in the morning?

Is Guerilla Gardening (don't have time to check the link sorry) like that group that goes around turning crappy city spots and no-man's-land into gardens? There's a group like that in Toronto I think. I think. They spruce up bits of soil around light posts and things - but the horrible thing is people go and steal the plants. Bastards.

Yeah, that was them. And ironically you commented while I was away! I have to go up to the main office every afternoon, and i just got back. I can post at all hours now, though, since internet access is readily available at this location.

Hmm, so maybe not that quiet? Though getting paid to go on the computer sounds fun from here, if I'm honest ;)

I heard Guerrilla Garden Guy on the radio the other day -well, I heard them say "Guerrilla Gardening" but I was listening to the Enchanted soundtrack *shifty eyes*. It really is a great idea. They should invade Brisbane.

Yeah, but I can't do anything else! The fun part hinges on being able to leave and do something else when you feel like it.

I never had any serious intentions of getting involved with the Gardening though, but it was fun to read the blog and see the pictures. If I had time and actual gardening skills I might. But...nope.

Are you on the "everything I touch decides to die" side? I can't keep a plant alive for beans. Even a bean plant.

Wahey! Nicely done.
I used to have a lovely strawberry garden, but the neighbour sprayed his weeds which happened to be right next to it. And that was the end of my gardening - everything since has died. Maybe I should try killing a cactus XD
