...at this job.  Suddenly they have so much stuff for me to do!  Type this, scan that and email it to me.  Well, I typed successfully.  I attempted to scan.  The scanner does not want to work.  I have done everything in my limited reservior of technical knowledge to resolve the issue myself.  This included checking the connections and restarting the computer.  I went to Microtek's tech support, and it told me to do pretty much everything I've already done.  I really, really wanted to avoid bugging the IT guy.  Since he has a way of making everyone he "helps" feel like a doofus.  Not to mention he's a pretty busy guy already.  I left him a message and hopefully he gets back to me before I leave the office, task undone.

But!  There is good news.  Up until now I have been 4 hours short of full time work, even though I work five days a week (only open a half day on Sunday).  I have just been informed that they need me to keep working weekends at residential.  So I am now working five and a half days a week, Mon-Thurs at commercial, and Sat-Sun at residential, which adds up to a total of eight hours of overtime every pay period.  I win.  And because of this happy developement I will be reinstating my allowance, wherein I allot myself thirty dollars of every paycheck to waste on whatever I want (books, usually, sometimes CDs, DVDs).  I was denying myself that small pleasure in the somewhat fatalistic certainty that I will not find a job and therefore needed to save every wad of cash I coud get my hands on.  No more!  And guess what?  "What?", you may ask.  Tomorrow is padaaaaaay!  And I already know what I'm going to get.
