I once again changed my theme (the old one started to look a little too whimsical for my taste) and got a paid account while I was at it. Mostly because the theme I wanted was only available for paid accounts.
I also splurged and against my better judgement went to the bookstore and bought more books. Twice in one pay period...I know that doesn't seem like much but I really need to start saving for a car. I could have gotten by without one in Atlanta, but I found out that GSCI doesn't have dorms, either. So, since I will be commuting, a car is necessary. Public Transit is, like around here, practically nonexistent.
So, the books! I got Book two of Codex Alera, Academ's Fury by Jim Butcher, one of the Elemental Master's books by Mercedes Lackey, The Wizard of London and...Frangipani. I went in the store wanting to get something that I would never ever get. I stayed out of the fantasy and sci fi section (at first), and looked for something eye catching, and ended up with a chick lit mother/daughter type story, set in Tahiti. I'm about halfway through it already, and it's okay. I don't know why, but I have never been an emotional touchy-feely kind of person. A line like, "once joined by the umbilical cord, joined for life" just...I don't know. I think stuff like that is silly and I can't relate to it. Not that I don't love my mom, but I don't feel that kind of connection with her. It's hard to descibe.
Anyway. I feel tired, and not all prepared to run around after four year old twins tomorrow and Saturday. Part of it is lack of sleep, part of it is work. Sometimes I really hate my job, I really really do. Well, I should modify that--I hate stupid people. They make me feel vicious.
