what i made last night (original recipe)

I bring you Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa:

(For a single serving)

1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup + 2 tablespoons of milk (or half and half, mmmm)
1 teaspoon of peanut butter (creamy, obviously, not chunky)

Gently heat 1 cup of milk, either in a microwave or in a saucepot over the stove.  If using the stove, heat it over medium heat, and don't let it boil!  In a microwave, heat it for a minute and thirty seconds, and see how warm it is, then heat it in 30 second intervals until it's as hot as you like it.  Milk will boil over before you know it, so keep an eye on it.

In a mug combine the cocoa, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of milk to make a paste.  That way you won't get lumps.  When the milk is hot stir it in, as well as the peanut butter.  I made some last night and again this morning; it was very delish with cinnamon toast.

I decided yesterday that I wanted some hot cocoa because it's been getting cold out, so I stopped at The Pig (I found one pretty near my apartment) to buy cocoa and half and half.  I was treating myself, alright?  Anyway, I got home and made a cup, and read a bit, and decided I wanted another.  I was thinking about putting some cinnamon in it this time and trying Mexican hot cocoa, but then I thought, no, maybe I'll try some peppermint extract.  Then my eye lit on a jar of peanut butter.  Thus this creation.

Ooer, that sounds delicious!
I'd try it but it's just so hot here- I'm melting, I swear!

You Southern Hemisphere people! I am amazed that the place I work still does a brisk business with milk shakes and icecream, honestly. I had to run my furnace this morning. Last thing I want is icecream! I understand.

Argh, I really want ice-cream, but I'm lactose intolerant! They make lactose-free everything, now, except ice-cream! And soy ice-cream tastes rubbish!

**And I look like a crazy person now, using so many exclamation marks!

Ooer, it's a bit cooler tonight, and I feel rubbish, so I'm going to have a hunt around the cupboard for some peanut butter to try this out!
