I change my journal layout the way some people change their hair color. Ha.

Still job hunting...I found several jobs that are right near my apartment, and one even offered benefits, prescriptions and dental included! So cross your fingers, pray, ask the universe, whatever your belief system dictates, that I get called by somebody reeeal soon.

//edit//

WTF lj? It ate half my entry! Where is the rest of it? And my poor brain is too tired to try and remember what I said.

Best of luck with the job hunt! One time I tried a temp company...and now I work in a landfill.

Also, my sympathies on LJ eating half your post. I fully believe that when this happens, our posts go to some sort of blogging heaven where everyone wants to read them and they never end up in obscurity...

Hah, right. It even put my default icon on, and wiped out the mood thingy.

But everything else has been going more or less according to plan, so it stands to reason that this will follow the same pattern. Except I've had terrible luck with finding jobs. The only reason I've got the one now is nepotism! My sister works in accounting.

Better nepotism than...erm...something else with an "-ism"...

Ah accounting, the ugly stepsister of journalism...

Even if you have bad luck finding a job, enjoy the ride. I have a Master's degree in Sociology (nearly a PhD) and in the past year I have been a carpenter, a secretary, a cell phone programmer (even worse than it sounds), and a graduate student. I believe that if I hadn't just sat back and enjoyed the insanity that was my life, I would have ended up in a straight jacket, pounding my head against a rubber wall...or I might have moved to Delaware.

I've been a receptionist and a babysitter. And an on again, off again student. I've just been puttering around really, until recently. I always liked cooking but it just never occured to me make a career out of it. People suggested it to me all the time but I secretly didn't think I was good enough. But I got over that hang up, obviously. And at least if I end up sucking as a chef, I can still always become a beach bum. :) My apartment is ten minutes away from the coast.

I'm jealous...

Sometimes our friends know things that we don't. Listening to them might turn out to be an interesting endeavor.

So you live close to a coast. *sigh* I love the ocean, but I'm moving away from a coast to live in the middle of a bunch of cornfields.

Whereas I am moving from the middle of a bunch of cotton fields. It still feels weird, to think of living at the beach. I read sometimes about how the air smells different and when I was down there Monday, I realized it actually does. But not where I'm at, I had to be pretty close to water to notice.

Ooh I like this one, I tried it but it was too similar to my previous one. Has lovely borders though!

Am sending you happy vibes - good luck ones might end up jinxing you, since I'm not a lucky person!

Well, I wasn't, until this recent spate. I just keep thinking it has to work itself out, and then I envision myself a month from now, settled in and gainfully employed, about to start the first day of class...

Which is exactly how it will happen! I've been rather chuffed at how well things have come together for me in the last few years, it gives me confidence that I can handle life after all :)

Love the lovely layout. It's rather pretty :)
Good luck with your job hunting! Something will turn up. Probably when you least expect it.

Oh dear, it's gone to the bit-bucket in the sky. RIP rest of post. :( Computers are mad, aren't they?
