Minor panic inducing incident with Oz last night. I thought he might have caught an upper respiratory infection, because his breathing started sounding really congested. And he's been sneezing a lot the last few days. And I only had them vaccinated for rabies the last two years, since money is a thing and they don't go outside, anyway. But I was up at three in the morning searching feline upper respiratory infection, thinking I may have killed my cat because I didn't want to pay for something I thought he didn't need but did, and it was just a scary night. But, after sifting through the information, I think he just has a cold (didn't even know cats could catch a cold), since he's eating and drinking normally and appears to still be using the litter box. No nasal or eye discharge, or sores in his mouth, and if anything, he's been more playful than usual, so he probably doesn't have a fever. So I'm just going to keep an eye on him, and maybe call the vet tomorrow and see what she says. But good god, was I about to completely lose it last night when I heard his breathing.
It could even be that Toby has one too, although I can't be totally sure if his allergies are just acting up worse than usual. But he's been sneezing more than usual lately, too. The only one who hasn't given me cause for worry is Mica.
She's been living with us a full month now, and nope, no signs of evilness yet. Although it still amuses me to call her Evil One, heh. She's gone from being completely standoffish, and not wanting Oz or Toby anywhere near her, to actually instigating play with them! It amazes me how easily she's fit into the household. Such a sweetie. And she looks like a healthy cat now, no more jutting hipbones and ribs, no more hollow belly. Glossy coat. Trying to convince her to use a scratching post instead of the furniture has been the one and only problem I've had with her so far.
So that's it, just felt the need to spam the flist with cat lady ramblings, lol.

Glad to read that the babies are fine. Thanks to our neighbor across the hall, who has a severe weakness for kitties, we are now the proud owners of Front Porch Kitty (that's what mom named her, don't ask). She's a young orange, grey and white calico with beautiful green eyes and talks too damn much. Actually, both mom and two the of tenants take turns feeding her. Needless to say, she ain't going anywhere anytime soon. I told mom that she might as well go on ahead, get her fixed and bring her inside. She's very friendly, which leads me to believe that she used to belong to someone.
